The FiberPatrol® FP2000 series of perimeter intrusion detection systems uses in-ground fiberoptic sensors to detect humans and vehicles crossing over the sensor area. The FP2100 version additionally report the precise location of the intrusion. Unlike the easily visible fence-mounted sensors, a buried FP2000 sensor is covert. Moreover, because FiberPatrol® sensors are non-metallic and produce no electro-magnetic emissions or heat, they are not merely invisible but virtually undetectable.
Perimeter fences and fence-mounted intrusion sensors present a visual deterrent to a potential intruder, which may or may not be desired in certain applications. A covert FiberPatrol® intrusion sensor, on the other hand, enables intrusion detection in a discreet profile that does not advertise its presence. The FP2000 is often deployed in tandem with fence and wall sensor systems to provide redundant detection in a mix of conspicuous and covert perimeter security elements.
The FP2000 series systems feature high sensitivity monitoring that is capable of detecting a single footstep, while the FP2100 version can pinpoint the location of an intruder to within a few feet. Based on advanced fiberoptic sensor technology, these systems are capable of virtually eliminating nuisance alarms. The buried sensors can be configured to cover areas of any shape and size on flat or rolling terrain.
The FP2000 series systems are commonly deployed to provide intrusion detection along the site perimeter or to isolate individual high-value assets within the facility. The FP2000 series can be used as a second layer of intrusion detection, in conjunction with fence- or wall-mounted sensors. The FP2000 series sensors can be discreetly incorporated into landscaped areas, where security fencing may not be desirable on aesthetic basis.
