The FiberPatrol FP1210 and FP1220 are low-cost additions to the FP1200 series of multi-zone perimeter intrusion detection systems for chain-link fences. The new systems feature standalone, environmentally hardened alarm processor modules, packaged as panel-mount boxes (FP1210) or plug-in cards (FP1220). Each processor supports up to 4 zones, multiplexed in a standard FiberPatrol sensor cable and based on the company’s proven fiberoptic sensing technology. Hardened multi-zone intrusion detection systems are also available for wall-mounted, in-ground, and mixed deployment scenarios.
Fiber-And-Go Solution for Smaller Sites
The FP1210 system is designed for smaller sites, such as rural electrical substations and water well-heads. For quick and minimal-cost deployment, a 4-zone sensor cable for a 1-acre or smaller facility can be pre-terminated at the factory. The system requires no climate controlled environment and no field configuration or calibration. The processor module will automatically adjust for variable sensor length and optical losses and will report any issues affecting system integrity, as well as the intrusion alarms.
Multi-Sensor Correlation Processing
One- and two-zone alarm processors have been a standard in the security industry. The FiberPatrol FP1210 / FP1220 systems are the first to introduce a 4-zone processor module. The main reason to combine 4-zone detection in a single unit is to enable an on-board rejection of any weather-induced disturbances that, due to their distributed nature, affect all 4 zones. An intruder, by comparison, can simultaneously disturb at most 2 zones by climbing at a zone junction point.
System Integration: The Bigger Picture
The FP1210 / FP1220 modules come standard with all three of the most common alarm interface options: TCP/IP for network-based integration, RS-232 for local hardware integration, and relay contacts for interfacing to legacy systems. No proprietary communication equipment is required for networking multiple alarm processors together. The FP1210 / FP1220 are natively supported by the FiberPatrol Remote Alarm Management System (FPRAMS) and can report to a variety of 3rd party alarm management systems.
