LANGHORNE , PA : January 8, 2008 – Optellios, Inc., announced today that it has deployed its FiberPatrol FP2100 covert intrusion detection system at an undisclosed high-security location within the White Sands Missile Range complex. Optellios is a leading fiberoptic technology company and manufacturer of the FiberPatrol line of intrusion detection and communication products. The FP2100 system actively monitors and reports any unauthorized attempts to cross a buried sensor surrounding the site. The system was installed as a joint effort between Optellios and a local security contractor already operating on site.
White Sands Missile Range, located in south-central New Mexico, is the largest military installation in the United States and the largest over-land missile range in the Western hemisphere. WSMR’s extensive capabilities are relied upon by all branches of the U.S. armed services as well as by NASA and other government, academic and private industry clients.
