LANGHORNE, PA: October 25, 2007 - Optellios, a leading fiberoptic technology company and manufacturer of the FiberPatrol® intrusion detection and communication systems, is pleased to announce a strategic partner agreement with the security operations of TAC in the Eastern United States. TAC provides complete building solutions to customer segments such as government, healthcare, K-12 and universities, pharmaceutical, retail, hospitality and commercial office. With Partners and branch offices located in 80 countries, TAC has security systems installed at thousands of facilities around the world.

“As the scale of security projects continues to expand, so does the need for long-range fiberoptic detection and communication solutions,” said David Berardi, vice president, TAC Systems Integration East. “Optellios brings to the table some of the most advanced fiberoptic technologies and products. This partnership will enhance TAC’s ability to serve customers and further solidify our position as a premier security system integrator.”

Optellios has been a source of innovative fiberoptic sensing solutions for perimeter security and infrastructure monitoring. Its FiberPatrol line of location-sensing intrusion detection systems introduced distributed fiberoptic sensing concepts to the security marketplace. The FiberPatrol systems seamlessly integrate with and enhance traditional security components including video surveillance and access control. Complemented by a full line of data- and video-over-fiber communication products, also available from Optellios, the FiberPatrol solution is uniquely positioned to form the backbone of modern outdoor perimeter and infrastructure security systems.

“Over the past few years, Optellios has developed a strong technology partnership with TAC. We have integrated video surveillance systems from TAC’s subsidiaries Integral Technologies and, now, Pelco, into the FiberPatrol perimeter security solution. We see a tremendous potential in extending this partnership into a full-fledged business relationship,” said Jay Patel, CEO of Optellios. “Through this agreement, we gain access to TAC’s expertise and presence in the U.S. and international security marketplace, while helping TAC further extend the technological advantage that made them a dominant force in the industry.”
